A short 800-meter walk from Swarzędz old town is enough to get to Swarzędzkie Lake. Located in the picturesque Cybina river valley, this body of water guarantees many attractions, both for those seeking active leisure, and those wishing to just relax.
long the south shore of the lake, on the side of Swarzędz, by the a pedestrian pathway, there is a small marina with a kayak and paddle boat rental. In the summer, sailing courses are available. Directly by the pathway there is also a skate-park - one of the most modern facilities of this kind in the country. Swarzędzkie Centrum Sportu i Rekreacji (Swarzędz Sports and Recreation Center) is nearby, with its tennis courts, sports fields and halls, and the very well equipped “Wodny Raj” swimming facility with a summer stage, in the winter turned into an ice-skating rink. There is also and educational pathway nearby, where you the vegetation of the wetlands can be observed.
The cyclists will be glad to know that the northern shore of the lake is a part of the Cistercian Bike Route and the Camino de Santiago (St. James’ Path), leading all the way to the famous Galician sanctuary in Santiago de Compostela in north-western Spain.
The lake is also one of the most naturally valuable parts of this area. Therefore, a special educational pathway in the Cybina Valley has been created here.
