Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera
The highlight of the exhibition will be 40 works of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Works come from the collection of Jacques and Natasha Gelman - the first collectors who were interested in Mexican art. In Poznan we will see, among others, Frida's most famous works, such as "Self Portrait Eith Necklace," "Self Portrait As A Tehuana Diego On My Mind" and "Self Portrait 1941"
The exhibition will be characterized by a focus on Frida's paintings and her talent, and not on the romances and disease, which are still a recurring theme among the public and the media.

The Polish context
The exhibition will reveal to visitors the Polish threads in the life of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. They were friends with artists of Polish origin - Bernice Kolko, the photographer and Fanny Rabel, the painter. ZAMEK Culture Centre will present pictures of Bernice Kolko, who could take personal photos of Frida. Works of Fanny Rabel, in turn, represent everyday life in Mexico in the 40s and 50s, during the life of Frida Kahlo.
Another Polish accent will be a recall of Mexican Art Exhibition from 1955, which was one of the most important artistic events of the time in Poland.
