Dogs in the city

Below some hints for everyone coming to Poznań with humans' best friend.

Basic Rules for the owners:

 

  • Dog in the city must be walked only with a muzzle unless It is categorized as non-danger kind. Leash however is almost always mandatory;
  • All the canine waste must be cleaned immediately;
  • Every trash bin is suitable, special can is not necessary;
  • Tiding after the dog is a duty of an owner, not any special services;
  • Failure to comply to the rules may effect strong disapproval or even the ticket of 500 PLN.

 


 

Dogs in city parks:

 

Mainly, dogs are allowed to most of the parks, city beaches and playgorunds. Of course, leash and muzzle must be used. Despite Poznań being dog-friendly city, there are few exeptions. These are:

 

  • park im. Chopina;
  • park im. Kurpińskiego;
  • park im. Maciejewskiego;
  • park im. Skłodowskiej-Curie;
  • park Wilsona;
  • park im. Dąbrowskiego (The Old Brewery’s park);
  • garden of CK Zamek;
  • Zielone Ogródki im. Zakrzewskiego.

 


 

Runs for dogs:

 

Poznań os one of the cities in Poland with the most runs for dogs. These are locations of some of them:

 

  • os. Oświecenia
  • os. Powstań Narodowych
  • ul. Polanka
  • area around Rusałka Lake
  • Lasek Marceliński (Marceliński Woods)
  • ul. Browarna

Lasek Dębiecki, Park im. ks. Jasińskiego, Lasek Golęciński, Park Jana Pawła II, Park im. Jana Kasprowicza, Park Tysiąclecia, Park nad Wartą near os. Piastowskie, Park Wodziczki, Park between bridges of  Królowej Jadwigi and Św. Rocha, Park Szelągowski, Citadel Park, Park near os. Chrobrego, Park near os.Czecha/Rusa.
