Forni Rossi - Italy with a view of Lake Malta

NEW ADDRESS: Naramowicka 92, 61-619 Poznań

Shopping malls have become small, self-contained cities. They satisfy all needs of their visitors, keeping them occupied for multiple hours. The presence of carwashes, playgrounds and large food courts surprises no-one. Not many of us would even consider going to a mall just to eat. Forni Rossi in Galeria Malta shopping center at Lake Malta tries to change this perception with quality, authenticity and a natural flavour.

Forni Rossi is Italian for “red ovens”. The Neapolitan-style pizzas in three varieties served in the restaurant are baked in them. The menu informs us that the pizza has the AVPN certificate given by the Real Neapolitan Pizza Association, and is the only one of this kind served in Poland. Each of the ingredients used in pizza production comes from Italy, and additionally most of them have proper quality certificates. And that is not all. The production of original pizza takes practice - a two-month training to be more precise, which took place in Italy. The effect? A culinary journey to the sunny South. The pizza you have between shopping trips makes you stop and take a closer look at Forni Rossi. And kudos on the interesting idea of putting a short instruction on how to properly eat a Neapolitan-style pizza on the menu - thanks for the tip!

A selection of pastas, soups and salads complements the pizzas. The lovers of marine flavours will appreciate fresh salmon and breaded shrimp. Fresh basil and rocket, fragrant olives and original Italian cheeses with a use-by date of just ten days - all of this mouthwatering Italian goodness beckons you on the plates. There are also desserts, and coffee - can you guess where it is from? Forni Rossi is an attempt at fresh, authentic Italian cuisine. All produce is also available for purchase on the spot, in a small deli.

Italian cuisine cannot exist without wine. The restaurant has just introduced a short wine list with wines available by the carafe (200ml). An outing of two or three, ordering a crispy focaccia and a carafe of wine will cost around 20 PLN (~5EUR). The prices are quite affordable, which is one of Forni Rossi’s biggest strengths.

The location in the mall is an idea which can be seen as visionary or… mad. Enthusiasts of good cuisine usually do not seek it in malls. The growing popularity and recognition of Forni Rossi shows that a quality based culinary offer finds its devotees also here. What is more, finding a seat can be tricky - the restaurant can be quite busy during lunch hour, which also means a longer waiting period for the orders to arrive to the table. Solid wooden tables, well-functioning waiting staff, and a recurrent quality are good prognoses for the future.
