Sundays with shopping ban

From March 2018 prohibition of trade on Sunday was introduced in Poland. Therefore, the stores will be open only on selected Sundays in a month.

In 2018, trade has been possible on the first and last Sunday of the month. In 2019 trade is allowed only on LAST Sunday of the certain month. Shops will be closed if a holiday falls on Sunday. This is an important information, especially for foreign tourists visiting Poznań. Some of them may be surprised that in Poland they won't be able to do shopping every Sunday.

Sundays with shopping ban - what will be open?

On regular Sundays stores will be open as usual. On Sundays with a trade ban, shopping can be done in bakeries,  florists, souvenir shops, newsagents, post offices, tobacco stores, at the airports and in duty-free zones. Fuel stations will also be open. Shopping can also be done in small stores, but the owner must be behind the counter, not the employee.

Tourist Information points run by the Poznań Tourism Organization will be open on all Sundays. You will be able to get information about Poznań and the surrounding area and buy souvenirs from Poznan.
