St. Andrew's Day derives from an old tradition when fortune-telling was only for unmarried girls hoping to find their future husband. First mentioned in 16th century holiday was very popular in Poland and was one of the last occasions to have fun before the Advent. Nowadays the holiday takes a different form: wild party with fortune-telling.
