International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino!

34th International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! starts on 27th November. It is a unique event that promotes good cinema for young audience, one that is not afraid of important topics, such as family, first love and war. During the festival you will see 50 feature films and 100 short films. All will compete for the Golden Goats and special prizes.

This award-winning festival gives voice to children, parents, teachers, directors, actors, producers and critics. The organizers want to present modern cinema to children and young people, as well as the older audience. The basis for the Festival Ale Kino! is good cinema, which is open to different ways of seeing the world and is fluent in multiple film languages.

During the festival brand new films are presented, along with the forgotten classics. This year, 3765 films from 123 countries were submitted for the competition, 50 feature films and 100 short films were chosen for the main competition. All will compete for the Golden Goats and special prizes from from the youth and children jury. Altough presented films are mostly premieres, some have already been noticed in the world, such as: Miss Impossible (Special Distinction - Generation K-Plus, Berlinale 2016 European Film Award 2016 in category Young Audience Award) and My name is Zuchinni (Audience Award and the Award for the best feature film at the Annecy Festival 2016; Audience Award San Sebastian 2016; Audience Award Warsaw Film Festival).

As always,  films presented at the festival deal with topics important to young audience, such as exclusion from different environments; family; first love dilemmas, maturation in all possible ways and war. Apart from film screenings, the organizers have prepared additional attractions as film workshops, forums for teachers and filmmakers, thematic sections of the film (Ale Kino! Sports, Ale Kino! Family).
